<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 106 "ZONING" OF THE CODE OF
<br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY CHANGING THE ZONING
<br />CLASSIFICATION OF A 2.448-ACRE TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 10807
<br />HOUSTON DRIVE, AND BEING LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS RESERVE A & A1,
<br />BLOCK 12, BATTLEGROUND ESTATES SECTION 2, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS,
<br />FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-1) TO LARGE LOT RESIDNTIAL (LLD);
<br />MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING
<br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF
<br />WHEREAS, the City is authorized by Chapter 211 of the Texas Local Government Code to
<br />promulgate rules and regulations governing regulation of land use, structures, businesses, and
<br />related activities, and that such rules and regulations as adopted by the City promote the safe,
<br />orderly, and healthful development of the City; and
<br />WHEREAS, on February 17, 2022, the La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission conducted
<br />a public hearing regarding a request to rezone a 2.448- acre tract of land located at 10807
<br />Houston Drive and legally described as Reserve A & Al, Block 12, Battleground Estates
<br />Section 2, Harris County, Texas, from Low Density Residential (R-1) to Large Lot Residential
<br />(LLD), following lawful publication of the notice of said public hearing; and
<br />WHEREAS, on February 17, 2022, after considering the public testimony received at such
<br />hearing, if any, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that the request to rezone
<br />a 2.448- acre tract of land located at 10807 Houston Drive and legally described as Reserve A
<br />& Al, Block 12, Battleground Estates Section 2, Harris County, Texas, from Low Density
<br />Residential (R-1) to Large Lot Residential (LLD) be approved; and
<br />WHEREAS, on March 28, 2022, the City Council of the City of La Porte conducted a public
<br />hearing regarding a request to rezone a 2.448- acre tract of land located at 10807 Houston
<br />Drive and legally described as Reserve A & Al, Block 12, Battleground Estates Section 2,
<br />Harris County, Texas, from Low Density Residential (R-1) to Large Lot Residential (LLD);
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, each and every applicable requirement set forth in Chapter 211, Subchapter A,
<br />Texas Local Government Code and the Code of Ordinance of the City of LaPorte, Texas,
<br />concerning public notices, hearings and other procedural matters have been fully met; and
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires that the request to rezone a 2.448- acre tract of land
<br />located at 10807 Houston Drive and legally described as Reserve A & Al, Block 12,
<br />Battleground Estates Section 2, Harris County, Texas, from Low Density Residential (R-1) to
<br />Large Lot Residential (LLD) be approved;
<br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />LA PORTE, TEXAS:
