RESOLUTION 2022-04 <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte foreclosed on a property ("the property") through a delinquent <br />tax lawsuit and judgment identified as follows: <br />LOT TWENTY-FOUR (24), IN BLOCK TWENTY-NINE (29) OF BEACH PARK <br />ADDITION TO TOWN OF LA PORTE, AN ADDITION IN HARRIS COUNTY, <br />TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN <br />VOLUME 67, PAGE 148 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF HARRIS COUNTY, <br />TEXAS. (ACCOUNT # 007-001-000-0038) <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte remains unpaid after exhausting all legal means to satisfy the <br />collection of the delinquent taxes due and owing to the City of La Porte, including conducting a <br />public auction of the property by the Harris County Sheriff whereby the property was struck off to <br />the City of La Porte and; <br />WHEREAS, being no bids for the property at the tax sale on June 3, 2014, the City of La Porte <br />now holds the property in trust to secure the payment of taxes, penalties, interest and costs owed <br />to the City of La Porte; <br />WHEREAS, the property held in trust by the City of La Porte is exempt from taxation and it is in <br />the best interest of the City of La Porte to have the property returned to the active tax roll as a <br />taxable property; <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has received an offer of $6,800.00 to purchase the property from <br />BP Coastal Builders & Developers, LLC. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED by the City of La Porte: <br />1. That all of the above paragraphs are true, correct and in the best interest of the City of La <br />Porte and as such they are hereby incorporated in full and made a part of this Resolution; <br />2. That the City of La Porte accepts the tax resale offer by ]BP Coastal Builders & Developers, <br />LLC and authorizes the City Manager of the City of La Porte to sign and execute the deed <br />on behalf of the City of La Porte to transfer title to the person submitting the offer to <br />purchase the property. <br />APPROVED, PASSED AND ORDERED this the 11th day of April, 2022. <br />CITY OF L <br />Lou"- Igby, r <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />Clark T.
