JAY MARTIN, CHAIRMAN <br />MAYOR PRO TEM <br />MANDI WILLIAMS <br />COUNCILPERSON <br />CHUCK ENGELKEN <br />COUNCILPERSON <br />BILL BENTLEY, ALTERNATE <br />COUNCILPERSON <br />MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 12, 2022 <br />The Drainage and Flooding Committee of the City of La Porte met on Monday, September <br />12, 2022, at the City Hall Council Chambers, 604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, <br />at 6:00 p.m. to consider the following items of business: <br />Committee Members present: Chuck Engelken, Jay Martin, Mandi Williams (arrived at 5:04 <br />P. m.) <br />Committee Members attending remotely: None <br />Committee Members absent: Bill Bentley (alternate) <br />Council -appointed officers present: Corby Alexander, City Manager (arrived at 5:04 p.m.); Lee <br />Woodward, City Secretary; Clark T. Askins, Asst. City <br />Attorney <br />CALL TO ORDER — Chairman Martin called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />2. CITIZEN COMMENT (Generally limited to five minutes per person, in accordance with state <br />law, the time may be reduced if there is a high number of speakers or other considerations.) <br />Ryan Mathis had questions about inspection of fill dirt. <br />3. STATUTORY AGENDA <br />a. Presentation, discussion, and possible action to approve the minutes of the <br />Drainage and Flooding Committee regular meeting held on August 8, 2022. [Jay <br />Martin, Chair] <br />Member Engelken moved t0 approve the minutes: the motion was seconded by Chair <br />Martin: the motion was adopted. 2-0. <br />b. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding the status of potential <br />development of property located at the intersection of State Hwy. 146 and McCabe <br />Road and owned by Dutko Family Partnership, Ltd. [Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant <br />Director of Public Works] <br />Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant Director of Public Works, said the City had received a copy of <br />the drainage report and then shortly received notification from Beazer that they were not <br />proceeding at this time. Tom Hitchcock, a representative for the property owners, was <br />asked if he had any comments and said the owners have been allowing Beazer to move <br />through its process with the City. <br />c. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding status of 100 acre-foot <br />detention pond project near the Pasadena Convention Center and Brookglen <br />Subdivision, in connection with amended interlocal agreement between the City of <br />La Porte and the City of Pasadena.
