This submission <br />concerns procedures for implementation of bilingual election requirements with respect to <br />Vietnamese Americans, as mandated by Sections 203 and 4(f)(4) of the Voting Rights Act, 42 <br />US.C. 1973aa-la and 42 U.S.C. 1973b(f)(4), respectively. <br /> <br />This submission is also made on behalf of La Porte Independent School District, La Porte, Texas, <br />and the San Jacinto College District, Pasadena, Texas, herein referred to as "Applicants". The <br />City, the School District, and the College, to the extent the College's boundaries are co-terminus <br />with those of the School District, hold joint elections, using the same early voting and regular <br />voting places and election districts. The geographical area covered by this submission is herein <br />referred to as the "Jurisdiction". <br />
