<br />-- <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />NOTICE OF CLASS 2 PER.1\1tIT MODIFICATION <br /> <br />E.!. du Pont de Nemours & Company, Inc., located at 12501 Strang Road, La Porte, Texas 77571, <br />has filed an application for a Class 2 modification to Texas Natural Resource Conservation <br />Commission (TNRCC) Hazardous Waste Permit No, HW -50213-000. The modification requested <br />will allow the site to update technology, streamline monitoring requirements, and allow the <br />implementation of performance based requirements when conducting RCRA Facility <br />Investigations, The application is subject to the Coastal Management Program (CMP) and must be <br />consistent with the CMP goals and policies. A draft permit has been prepared as of the date of this <br />notice. <br /> <br />E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company, Inc" will hold a public meeting on this application on <br />October 8, 1997 at 5:00 p.m. at DuPont's DERA clubhouse, located at 12031 Strang Road, La <br />Porte as required by 30 TAC ~305.69 (c) (4) . The purpose of the public meeting is to provide <br />information and discuss issues related to the application. The applicant's contact person is Russell <br />K. Box 13087, Austin, TX <br />78711-3087. Individual members of the public who wish to inquire about the information contained <br />in this notice, or to inquire about other agency permit applications or permitting processes, should <br />call the TNRCC Office of Public Assistance, Toll Free, at 1-800-687-4040. The permittee's <br />compliance history during the life of the permit being modified is available from the Office of <br />Public Assistance. <br /> <br />The Commission may determine that the modification request must follow the procedures for Class <br />3 modifications if there is significant public concern about the proposed' modification, or the <br />complex nature of the change requires the more extensive procedures of a Class 3 modification. <br />The procedures for Class 3 modifications provide an opportunity for a public hearing. <br />
