City of La Porte City Manager's 0&e
EstabiisheJ 1892 The City of La Porte embraces our heritage, community values and
opportunities, while enhancing the quality of life for our citizens.
October 28, 2019
South Central Industrial Properties VII
c/o: Tax Department
PO Box 7008
Waco, TX 76714-7008
Re: City of La Porte Industrial District Agreement Renewals
Dear Industry Representative:
In early September, the City of La Porte forwarded the final draft of the Industrial District Agreements
(IDA) to all companies that currently have an IDA with the City expiring on December 31, 2019. The initial
deadline for returning the agreements was September 30, 2019. If you have not returned the Agreement
we ask you do so as soon as possible, as the City is taking necessary steps to proceed with annexation at
the December 9, 2019 Council meeting.
Furthermore, some of you may have a Water and/or Sewer Service Agreement with the City of La Porte.
Those agreements require that you maintain a current IDA with the City. Therefore, if we do not have an
agreement in place on January 1, 2020, we will initiate termination of utility service.
Let me assure you that the City wishes to continue our relationship with your company by securing an
Industrial District Agreement. However, we have taken the steps required for annexation to protect the
City's interests in case annexation is determined to be necessary.
To return your Agreement, we will accept an electronic copy via email followed by delivery of an
original agreement.
If you, for some reason, cannot return an executed agreement by December 9, 2019, you are welcome
to submit.a letter of intent to execute an agreement, explaining why an agreement.cannot be signed and
delivered by December 9th and indicating when an executed Agreement can be delivered.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Corby D.
