RESOLUTION 2023-06 <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte foreclosed on a property ("the property") through a delinquent tax <br />lawsuit and judgment identified as follows: <br />LOTS 1 THROUGH 24, INCLUSIVELY, BLOCK 1132, LA PORTE, LYING AND SITUATED IN <br />HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN <br />THE REAL PROPERTY RECORDS OF HARRIS COUNTY. ACCOUNT NUMBER: 024-199- <br />032-0001 <br />LOTS 25 THROUGH 28, INCLUSIVELY, BLOCK 1132, LA PORTE, LYING AND SITUATED <br />IN HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED <br />IN THE REAL PROPERTY RECORDS OF HARRIS COUNTY. ACCOUNT NUMBER: 024.199- <br />032-0025 <br />LOTS 29 THROUGH 30, INCLUSIVELY, BLOCK 1132, LA PORTE, LYING AND SITUATED <br />IN HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED <br />IN THE REAL PROPERTY RECORDS OF HARRIS COUNTY, ACCOUNT NUMBER: 024-199- <br />ux��tlt>r.�� <br />LOTS 31 THROUGH 32, INCLUSIVELY, BLOCK 1132, LA PORTE, LYING AND SITUATED <br />IN HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED <br />IN THE REAL PROPERTY RECORDS OF HARRIS COUNTY. ACCOUNT NUMBER: 024-199- <br />032-0031 <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte remains unpaid after exhausting all legal means to satisfy the collection <br />of the delinquent taxes due and owing to the City of La Porte, including conducting a public auction of <br />the property by the Harris County Constables whereby the property was struck off to the City of La Porte <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, being no bids for the property at the tax sale on October 2, 1997, the City of La Porte now <br />holds the property in trust to secure the payment of taxes, penalties, interest and costs owed to the City of <br />La Porte; <br />WHEREAS, the property held in trust by the City of La Porte is exempt from taxation and it is in the best <br />interest of the City of La Porte to have the property returned to the active tax roll as a taxable property; <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has received an offer of $250,470.00 to purchase the property from <br />Amin Ali. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED by the City of La Porte: <br />1. That all of the above paragraphs are true, correct and in the best interest of the City of La Porte <br />and as such they are hereby incorporated in full and made a part of this Resolution; <br />2. That the City of La Porte accepts the tax resale offer by Arnin Ali and authorizes the City <br />Manager of the City of La Porte to sign and execute the deed on behalf of the City of La Porte to <br />transfer title to the person submitting the offer to purchase the property. <br />
