The City initially entered into this agreement and structured the term to <br />end at the same time the contract with the school district ended. The La Porte Independent School <br />District (LPISD) has extended its contract with Perdue, Brandon Fielder, Collins & Mott, L.L.P. Since it <br />is to the City's advantage to utilize the same firm, staff is requesting the same terms that the school has <br />approved, which is three years with a tN -,°o year renewal. <br />This firm has represented the City in a professional and courteous manner and has consistently improved <br />the collection rate of delinquent taxes. The firm has collected over $700,000 dollars in the last three years <br />and assisted the La Porte Tax Office in selling numerous Tax Foreclosure Properties. City staff is <br />extremely pleased with the services the firm has provided. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Adopt Ordinance approving and authorizing a Contract for the Collection of Delinquent Taxes with Perdue, <br />Brandon, Fielder, Collins & Mott, L.L.P. for a three -year tern beginning July 1, 2011, and ending June 30, 2014, <br />with a two-near renewal, and on a month -to -month basis thereafter. <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />Ron Bottoms, City Manager <br />Date <br />
