Dr. Boultinghouse has been the EMS medical director for the City of <br />La Porte for the last 13 years and has done an outstanding job in that capacity. The Medical <br />Director is ultimately responsible for all medical treatment performed by the paramedics that are <br />employed by the City of LaPorte. <br />Details of the contracts are as follows: <br />• Contract renewal period is Retro- active to October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012. <br />• Contract renewal fee increased a total of $3,000.00 over last year. Prior to this request for <br />an increase, the last contract increase was requested and approved in the FY 2007 -08 <br />budget period. This increase was approved in the FY2011 -12 budget process. <br />EMS medical directors are a covered party under the TML Incidental Medical Malpractice <br />Liability Coverage plan. <br />Staff recommends approval of an ordinance to renew the contract with Dr. Oscar Boultinghouse, <br />M.D. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Consider approving an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Dr. Oscar <br />Boultinghouse, M.D., Medical Director for the City of La Porte EMS. <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />Ron Bottoms, City Manager <br />Date <br />
