[Lindsay French, Recreation Superintendent] <br />Councilperson McCaulley moved to approve Phase 2 and ask the La Porte Development <br />Corporation to fund Phase 2 of the La Porte Recreation and Fitness Center renovation plan; the <br />motion was seconded by Councilperson Bentley; the motion was adopted, 6-1, Councilperson <br />Garza votina aaainst. <br />b. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding the City of La Porte's adoption of <br />the 2018 International Code Council (ICC) editions and the 2020 National Electrical <br />Code with local amendments. Rigby, Mayor] <br />Councilperson Garza moved the staff be clearly directed to return with a better presentation as to <br />a recommendation and involve both sides to the discussion; the motion was seconded by Mayor <br />Pro Tern Martin; the motion was adopted, 6-1, Councilperson Engelken voting against. <br />c. Presentation discussion, and possible action regarding Ordinance 2021-3856 renaming <br />Fairmont Park West Park. [Louis R. Rigby, Mayor] <br />The Mayor noted the Facilities Naming Committee met this afternoon and agreed to recommend <br />renaming the Fairmont Park West Park to Monarch Park. Councilperson McCaullev moved to adopt <br />Ordinance 2021-3856 to rename Fairmont Park West Park to Monarch Park; the motion was <br />seconded by Councilperson Bentley; the motion was adopted, 7-0. <br />e. Presentation, discussion, and possible action to provide direction to staff on the <br />applicability of the current Sponsorship Policy on fundraising banquets for organizations <br />with which the City has an existing relationship. Rigby, Mayor] <br />Councilperson Engelken moved to direct staff to brinq back a revised sponsorship policy including <br />that purchases rtickets/tablesl for functions for organizations of which the City is a member will not <br />require Council approval; the motion was seconded by Councilperson Garza; the motion was <br />adopted, 7-0. <br />9. ELECTION MATTERS <br />a. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding election services for the May 7, <br />2022, general and special elections. [Louis R.
