The Notice to Bidders was advertised in the Bay Area Observer <br />on October 28th and November 11th, as well as being posted on Public Purchase and <br />the City of La Porte's Website. Twenty-six (26) vendors downloaded the bid package <br />and three (3) bids were received. Aztec Remodeling & Landscaping Company was the <br />low bidder in the amount of $124,000.00 and their references have been checked. The <br />Access Report, Bid Tabulation and Aztec Remodeling & Landscaping Company's Bid <br />has been attached as exhibits. <br />This project will include new nine (9) gauge, black coated fencing at all ten (10) <br />ballfields. <br />The low bid was submitted by Aztec Remodeling & Landscaping Company. All bids <br />exceeded the project budget of $93,500 funded through the Capital Improvement <br />Project (CIP) budget. In an effort to follow through with the project, there is an available <br />balance of $100,000.00 in CIP contingency funding. Staff is requesting City Council to <br />approve additional funding of $40,420.00 from the CIP contingency budget to cover <br />increased cost and an eight (8) percent contingency. <br />Staff recommends awarding Bid #22004 to Aztec Remodeling & Landscaping Company <br />in the amount of $124,000.00 and allow an 8% construction contingency of $9,920.00. <br />The total authorization for the Pecan Park Fence Fabric Project will be $133,920.00. <br />ACTION REQUIRED BY CITY COUNCIL <br />Award Bid #22004 to Aztec Remodeling & Landscaping Company in the amount <br />of $124,000.00 for the Pecan Park Fence Fabric Project, with a contingency <br />amount of $9,920, for a total authorization of $133,920.00 <br />
