Revitalize existing and undeveloped parks. <br />Strategy Recommend that the City's Parks & Recreation <br />Department work with Harris County and other <br />agencies to allow the City of La Porte to <br />locate a new city park by the Fred Hartman <br />Bridge site, obtain full property rights of Harris <br />County's Sylvan Beach Park, and redesign parks on <br />located on 7th Street and Creekmont. <br />• Objective 2. Construct safe bicycle paths and sidewalks adjacent <br />to neighborhood areas. <br />Strategy Recommend that the City's Parks & Recreation <br />Department study present neighborhood parks to <br />determine the construction of adjacent residential <br />bicycle paths and sidewalks. <br />DAY ACCESS DEVELOPMENT <br />Goal I. To develop the City of La Porte's bay front area. <br />Objective 1. Acquire available vacant bay front property for <br />future development. <br />Strategy Request that the City Council appoint a private <br />Economic Development Board, comprised of local <br />investors, to study and promote positive economic <br />growth for the bay front area.
