General Provisions, §§ 8.01-8.10 ARTICLE I. INCORPORATION; CITY POWERS 1.01. Incorporation. The inhabitants of the City of La Porte within the boundaries as now established or as hereafter established in the manner provided by law shall continue to be a body politic and corporate and be known by the name of the City of La Porte. • 1.02. City boundaries. The boundaries and limits of the city shall be the same as have heretofore been established and now exist, which boundaries and limits were originally shown on the map recorded in Volume 8, Page 16, Map Records of Harris County, Texas, and as modified by subsequent annexations and disannexations. 1.03. Modification of city boundaries. The city council shall have power by ordinance to fix the boundary limits of the city and to provide by ordinance for the extension of said boundary limits, by the annexation- of *Editor's note —The home rule Charter of La Porte, as adopted at referendum Aug. 23, 1980, is included herein, substantially as enacted.
