<br />Dear Mr. Livingston:

<br />Bo F. Howald and wife, Elnora E. Howald, conveyed all of Block
<br />474, consisting of Lots 1 through 32, both inclusive, ,in said
<br />block, Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, according to the
<br />map or plat thereof, to the City of La Porte, a municipal cor-
<br />poration, on September 25, 1930, by General Warranty Deed, which
<br />was recorded on November 19, 1930, in Volume '851, Page 544,
<br />Harris County Deed Records.

<br />I find no title insurance,~'policy or abstract on this property
<br />,in the City's files, and therefore can express no opinio? on
<br />the title. \

<br />The La Porte Independent School District conveyed Lots 15 and 16,
<br />Block 475, Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, to the City of
<br />La Porte, a municipal corporation, by Tax Deed dated July 8, 1969.
<br />This Tax Deed was recorded in Volume 7829, Page 263, Harris County
<br />Deed Records, on November 24, 1969.
<br />
<br />This was a Tax D~ed to the City of La Porte, and no title insur-
<br />ance was obtained by the City of La Porte. I have not examined
<br />the title to this parce,l, and therefore expres,s no opinion
<br />thereon.

<br />Edward W. Applebe and Dewey Walls conveyed Lots 1 through 14,
<br />both inclusive, and Lots 17 through 32, both inclusive, Block 475,
<br />Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, to the City of La Porte, a
<br />municipal corporation, by General Warranty Deed dated February 10,
<br />1969. The City of La Porte obtained an OWner's Title policy from,
<br />Stewart Title Guaranty Company, Houston"Texas, G.F. 3639-J, on
<br />the subject property. In my opinion, the Ci~y of La Porte has
