Herrera Ci ty Manager City of LaPorte City Hall LaPorte, Texas Re: Lots 5 to 16, inclusive, Block 1435 Town of LaPorte Dear Bob: In connection with this purchase by the City of LaPorte, I enclose herewith the City's original Deed, from LaPorte Land Company, which has been recorded under Harris County Clerk's file No. K784739, and the City's OWner Title Policy in the amount of the purchase price, $10,500.00, subject only to the matters shown thereon. The original Deed and Title Policy should be put in the City's permanent Real Estate Records. The following additional steps should be taken by the City: 1) The City was credited with tax pro~ation to the date of the Deed, October 9, 1986, at closing. The City should obtain 1986 tax bills, when available, from each of the taxing agencies, on a prorated basis from January 1, 1986 through October 9, 1986, and pay the same. 2) The City should notify the Harris County Appraisal District of this Purchase, and ask that the property be rendered in the name of the Ci ty of LaPorte, and placed on the exempt rolls.
