<br />THAT we, J. E. COOK, and wife, DOROTHY MAE COOK, and LA PORTE

<br />LAND COMPANY, a Texas Corporation, acting herein by and through
<br />
<br />its duly authorized officers, of Harris County, Texas, hereinafter

<br />called Grantor, for and in consideration of the sum of Ten and
<br />NO/lOO Dollars ($10.00) cash and other good and valuable conSidera-l)
<br />tions to me in hand paid by the CITY OF LA PORTE, a municipal corpo-
<br />ration of Harris County, Texas, hereinafter called Grantee, whose

<br />mailing address is Post Office Box 1115, La Porte, Texas 77571,

<br />receipt of which is he~eby acknowledged and confessed, have GRANTED,
<br />
<br />SOLD and CONVEYED, and by t;.he~e presents do GRANT,' SELL and CONVEY

<br />unto the said Grantee, the following described property, to-wit:

<br />All of Lots 10 to 16, inclusive, in Block 1264, in
<br />Town of La Porte, in Harris County, Teas, according
<br />to the map thereof recorded in Volume 60, Page 112,
<br />of the Deed Records of Harris County, Texas.

<br />Grantors reserve unto itself, its heirs, executors, administra-

<br />tors, assigns and successors in trust, all of the oil, gas and other
<br />minerals to be produced and saved from the above described land,
<br />
<br />without right to use the surface for exploration or production of

<br />said minerals.

<br />TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described premises, together with
<br />
<br />all and singular, the rights and appurtenances thereto in any wise
<br />
<br />belonging unto the said Grantee, their heirs and assigns forever.

<br />And Grantors, do hereby bind themse1ves, their heirs, executors and

<br />administrators, to warrant and forever defend, all and singular the
<br />
<br />said premise~ unto the said Grantee, its successors and assigns,

<br />against every person whomsoever Claiming or to claim the same or any f'

<br />part thereof, by, through, or under them, but not otherwise. Taxes

<br />for the current year have been prorated and are assumed by Grantee.
