.

e

Maxim

Flow direction in these units is, highly variable, but is generally toward the nearest down
gradient water body (lakes, creeks, rivers) and can be approximated by observing the surface
topography. Recharge areas for these perched aquifers are very local, and they can be
influenced by surface development of impervious cover (buildings, parking lots, roads), major
- road construction (underpa~ses, utility trenches), and variations in annual rainfall. A
subsurface investigation incl~ding the installation of a minimum of three monitoring wells
would be required to accurately determine groundwater gradient on the site.

4.2.5 Floodplain and Zoning Information

The Federal Emergency- Management Agency Flood Insurance Rate map, Community Panel
Number 48201C0375G dated September 28, 1990, indicates that the site is located in a 100-
year flood plain. '

According to the Harris County Planning Department, Harris County has not adopted zoning.
According to the City of Houston Planning Department, the city has not adopted ordinances
regarding zoning.

4.3 Regulatory Review

The purpose of the recor4s review is, to obtain and review reasonably ascertainable records
that will help identify recognized environmental conditions in connection with the site. (EDR), etc.].
As noted under ASTM, information requested and not received within 20 days ,after the report
date will not be incorporated into this report. The approximate minimum search distance
(MSD) for the site vicinity review is noted under each database listed below. Regulatory data
for facilities with recognized environmental conditions is within the appendices of this report.
A map showing the approximate location of each identified regulated facility can be found
with the regulatory data. Remaining regulatory support data will be maintained with the
Maxim project file.

The site was not identified ,on, the databases reviewed.

A summary of the database information in the site vicinity appears below'.

4.3.1 Federal Database Information

Federal NPL Site List (MSD-l.O ~ile)

The NPL (ab Federal Superfund) was reviewe9 to identify CERCLIS facilities within a one
'mile radius of the site and none were"identified.

FINDS (MSl>-Site and Adjoi~g)

The EP A Facility Index System (FINDS) acts as an inventory of facilities regulated by the
EP A which includes facilities which produce, store, emit, transport, or dispose of hazardous
substances.
