Weems, and Sturgis & Company, <br />Inc., conveying the above described property to the City of La <br />Porte, a municipal corporation. The deed reserves to the grantors, <br />all of the oil, gas, minerals, and royalty interest. The grantee, <br />city of La Porte, agrees to assume payment of the 2006 ad valorem <br />tax bills on the property. Taxes for 2005 and previous years have <br />been paid. <br /> <br />I also enclose originals of IRS Form 8283, one for Susan J. Weems <br />and one for Sturgis & Company, to be completed by the taxpayer and <br />the appraiser, for the charitable donation of this real property to <br />the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />This property is adjacent to the City of La Porte Municipal Golf <br />Course, and will be added to the Golf Course property and used for <br />public park purposes related to the Municipal Golf Course, by the <br />City of La Porte. <br /> <br />I would appreciate your furnishing me with a copy of the Forms <br />8283, when completed by the taxpayer and the appraiser, for the <br />City's files. <br /> <br />Again, on behalf of the City of La Porte, please let me express the <br />sincere appreciation of the City Council and City staff, for this <br />generous donation. <br /> <br />Yours very truly, <br /> <br />By: <br /> <br />C1;E:; ;:?t <br /> <br />Knox W.
