Dear Bob: In connection with this purchase by the City of laPorte, I enclose herewith the City's original Deed, from Elizabeth V.Weems, Et Al, which has been recorded under Harris County Clerk's file No. K861817 and the City's Owner Title Policy in the amount of the purchase price, $1,193,721.50, subject only to the matters shown thereon. The original Deed and Title Policy should be put in the City's permanent Real Estate Records. The following additional steps should be taken by the City: 1) The City was credited with tax proration to the date of the Deed, August 27, 1986, at closing. The City should obtain 1987 tax bi1ls,- when available, from each of the taxing agencies, on a,prorated basis from January 1, 1986 through August 27, 1986, and pay the same. 2) The City should notify the Harris County Appraisal District of this Purchase, and ask that the 'property be rendered in the name of the City of LaPorte, and placed on the exempt rolls.
