Box 1711 La Porte, Texas 77571 Attn: Mr. Decker McKim Dear Decker: As per your request we have conducted an investigation and preliminary design of a sanitary sewer line and water line to serve approximately 20 acres of land adjacent to 26th. Street(Sens Road) in the La Porte area. The property'in question is presently s~rved by an existing 8" water line on the North side of North i'n" St. and on the East side of 26th. St. (Sens Road). The cost of extension of the water line 1I.ou1d be only the cost of taps and meters, depending on size and quantity of water desired or required. For an apartment project with individual meters, the cost of water service would be included in the project costs. The water line on. the East side of 26th. St. is a 12" lin~. The property is not presently served by sanitary sewage, but there is an existing 15" line extended across 26th. St. at t.;rest "B" St. The sanitary sewer could be extended from this line. An 8" sewer line would adequately serve the 20 acre tract for apartment development, and an estimated cost of extending a line to North "nil St. and 26 tho St. would be approximately $20,000.00. This would extend the line along 26th. St. to North "nil St. Any other service points could be had by further extensions, at 'additional cost. Preliminary design by the City of La Porte, would require a 12" line to be extended to this area, and they would probably partidpate in the oversizing of this line to 12", depending on the avai1ability of City funds. Estimated cost of a 12" line to the same service point(North "n" St. and 26th. St.) is approximatel~25,OOO.00.
