CENTERPOINT ENERGY RESOURCES CORP. <br /> D/B/A CENTERPOINT ENERGY ENTEX <br /> AND CENTERPOINT ENERGY TEXAS GAS <br /> GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS <br /> APPLICABLE TO NATURAL GAS SERVICE IN TEXAS <br /> FOR JURISDICTIONS FOR WHICH TARIFF IS APPROVED ON OR AFTER MAY 23,2017 <br /> (3) The Company shall pay a minimum interest on such deposits according to the rate as <br /> established by law;provided, if refund of deposit is made within thirty days of receipt of <br /> deposit,no interest payment shall be made. If the Company retains the deposit more than <br /> thirty days,payment of interest shall be made retroactive to the date of deposit. <br /> (A) payment of interest to the customer shall be annually or at the time the deposit is <br /> returned or credited to the customer's account. <br /> (B) the deposit shall cease to draw interest on the date it is returned or credited to the <br /> customer's account. <br /> (4) Each gas utility shall waive any deposit requirement for residential service for an <br /> applicant who has been determined to be a victim of family violence as defined in Texas <br /> Family Code, §71.004,by a family violence center,by treating medical personnel,by law <br /> enforcement agency personnel, or by a designee of the Attorney General in the Crime <br /> Victim Services Division of the Office of the Attorney General. This determination shall <br /> be evidenced by the applicant's submission of a certification letter developed by the <br /> Texas Council on Family Violence and made available on its web site. Effective: <br /> November 10,2003;amended July 12,2004. <br /> (d) For commercial and large volume customers,Company may require a deposit where the applicant <br /> is unable to establish good credit by standards generally accepted as evidence of credit worthiness. <br /> The amount of any deposit,where required, shall be in an amount sufficient to protect Company <br /> but shall not exceed the amount of the estimated highest two(2)months'billing. Interest shall be <br /> paid at the legal rate on all deposits. Deposits shall be refunded after three (3) years of prompt <br /> payment,with refund including any interest to be made in cash or by credit to the Consumer's bill. <br /> Deposits may be refunded sooner if Consumer can establish a record of credit worthiness which <br /> would have entitled him to initial service without a deposit and otherwise has a record of prompt <br /> payment. <br /> (e) Deposits for temporary or seasonal service and for weekend or seasonal residences. The Company <br /> may require a deposit sufficient to reasonably protect it against the assumed risk,provided,such a <br /> policy is applied in a uniform and nondiscriminatory manner. <br /> (0 Records of deposits. <br /> (1) The Company shall keep records to show: <br /> (A) the name and address of each depositor; <br /> (B) the amount and date of the deposit;and <br /> (C) each transaction concerning the deposit. <br />
