CENTERPOINT ENERGY RESOURCES CORP. <br /> D/B/A CENTERPOINT ENERGY ENTEX <br /> AND CENTERPOINT ENERGY TEXAS GAS <br /> GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS <br /> APPLICABLE TO NATURAL GAS SERVICE IN TEXAS <br /> FOR JURISDICTIONS FOR WHICH TARIFF IS APPROVED ON OR AFTER MAY 23,2017 <br /> (B) Utility bills issued on or after August 30, 1993;and <br /> (C) An elderly person, as defined in subparagraph (ii) of this paragraph, who is a <br /> residential customer and who occupies the entire premises for which a delay is <br /> requested. <br /> (2) Defmitions. <br /> (A) Elderly person--A person who is 60 years of age or older. <br /> (B) Utility--A gas utility or municipally owned utility, as defined in Texas Utilities <br /> Code,§§ 101.003(7), 101.003(8),and 121.001-121.006. <br /> (3) An elderly person may request that the utility implement the delay for either the most <br /> recent utility bill or for either the most recent utility bill and each subsequent utility bill. <br /> (4) On request of an elderly person,a utility shall delay without penalty the payment date of <br /> a bill for providing utility services to that person until the 256 day after the date on which <br /> the bill is issued. <br /> (5) The utility may require the requesting person to present reasonable proof that the person <br /> is 60 years of age or older. <br /> (6) Every utility shall notify its customers of this delayed payment option no less often than <br /> yearly. A utility may include this notice with other information provided pursuant to <br /> subparagraph(A)of this paragraph. <br /> 23.RESIDENTIAL AVERAGE MONTHLY BILLING PROGRAM <br /> (a) DEFINITIONS <br /> (1) Under this provision, qualified Residential customers would have the option of <br /> participating in the Company's Average Monthly Billing Program ("AMB") as an <br /> alternative to the Company's normal billing procedure. For "AMB" purposes, the <br /> following definitions shall apply: <br /> (A) "Normal Bill" is an amount computed using the Company's applicable <br /> residential rate schedule for service provided during a billing month. <br /> (B) "Qualifying Customer" is a residential customer of the Company who has not <br /> had gas services suspended for non-payment and has not had a "Past Due" <br /> notice issued on an account during the immediately preceding twelve month <br /> period. <br />
