CITIZENS FOR <br />SPACE EXPLORATION <br />Citizens for Space Exploration <br />Washington, D.C. Trip <br />May 31- June 2, 2011 <br />Executive Summary Report <br />• 88 Citizens for Space Exploration (CSE) representatives — <br />including 24 "Gen Y" university students — representing 24 states <br />met with 330 Congressional offices from 46 states to speak on <br />behalf of America's leadership in human space exploration. <br />• CSE visited: <br />o 69% of Senate offices; <br />o 61 % of House offices; <br />o 67% of Senate Appropriations Committee Member offices; <br />o 67% of Senate Commerce Committee Member offices; <br />o 84% of House Appropriations Committee Member offices; and <br />o 87% of House Science Committee Member offices. <br />• These meetings were in addition to 94 visits by GoBoldlyNASA — <br />a complementary advocacy group associated with CSE — in <br />March to Freshman Congressional offices in an effort to advocate <br />in support of the programs and budget approved by Congress and <br />the President in the 2010 NASA Authorization Act. <br />• CSE continues to conduct the largest (i.e. most Congressional <br />offices contacted, most participants and most states represented) <br />pro -human space exploration grassroots annual trip to <br />Washington, D.C. in the nation. <br />
