Building Codes Appeals Board <br />Minutes of February 19, 2013 <br />Members Present: Tom Campbell, Ken Schlather, D. Paul Larson, and Lindsay Pfeiffer, <br />Members Absent: J.P. Jackson, Mark Follis, Terry Bunch <br />City Staff Present: Mark Huber- Deputy Building Official, Clark Askins- City Attorney <br />Others Present: N/A <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Meeting called to order at 6:05 P.M. by Chairman Tom Campbell. <br />2. CONSIDER APPROVING MINUTES FROM THE JANUARY 15, 2013 MEETING <br />Motion to approve as written, was made by Lindsay Pfeiffer. Second by Ken Schlather. <br />Motion passed- all in favor. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS (LIMITED TO FIVE MINUTES PER PERSON) <br />No Guests <br />4. REVIEW, DISCUSS AND CONSIDER A RECOMMENDATION TO CITY <br />COUNCIL RELATING TO A POSSIBLE CHANGE TO THE CITY'S <br />ELECTRICAL CODE LOCAL AMENDMENTS (CHAPTER 82, CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES) <br />Tom Campbell acknowledged Lindsey Pfeiffer. Lindsey Pfeiffer made a motion to amend <br />the electrical ordinance to read: <br />1) Section 82-308- Any where it states Master Electrician dealing with permitting, add <br />the verbiage "or authorized representative" <br />2) Section 82-338 Aluminum Conductors- Aluminum conductors may not be used in <br />any wiring within residential buildings, nor in any residential underground service <br />conductors. <br />Aluminum conductors may only be used in commercial applications as follows: <br />a) Outside aerial conductors <br />b) Service entrance conductors <br />3) Section 82-349 Add caps on BCAB <br />Motion- Ken Schlather, Second by Lindsey Pfeiffer- all in favor of motion to amend <br />electrical ordinance. Motion passed. <br />
