Planning and Zoning Commission <br />Minutes of April 21, 2011 <br />Members Present: Hal Lawler, Les Bird, Dottie Kaminski, Danny Earp, David Janda, Doretta Finch, <br />and Lou Ann Martin. <br />Members Absent: Kirby Linscomb Jr., and Richard Warren. <br />City Staff Present: Assistant City Manager, Traci Leach; City Planner, Masood Malik; City Attorney, <br />Clark Askins; and Planning Assistant, Shannon Green. <br />1. Call to order <br />Meeting called to order by Chairman Hal Lawler at 6:03p.m. <br />Chairman Hal Lawler announced Sulzer Inc. withdrew Rezone Request #11-92000003. <br />2. Consider approval of March 17, 2011, meeting minutes. <br />Motion by Les Bird to approve the regular meeting minutes of March 17, 2011. Second by Dottie <br />Kaminski. Motion carried. <br />Ayes: Hal Lawler, Les Bird, Dottie Kaminski, Danny Earp, David Janda, Doretta Finch, <br />and Lou Ann Martin. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />3. Open Public Hearing to receive citizen input on Rezone Request #11-92000002, for the <br />property located at 801 North 16t" Street, further described as TRS A & 1A, Block 1, Nebraska <br />Syndicate, Johnson Hunter Survey, Abstract No. 35, Harris County, Texas. Brolyn Petri of <br />Chemical Lime, seeks to have this property rezoned from Light Industrial (LI) to Heavy <br />Industrial (HI). <br />Chairman Hal Lawler opened the public hearing at 6:05pm. <br />A. Staff Presentation <br />Masood Malik, City Planner, gave staff's report. <br />Three public hearing notices were mailed to property owners within 200' of the subject <br />property. No responses were received. <br />B. Proponents <br />There were none. <br />C. Opponents <br />There were none. <br />D. Proponents Rebuttal <br />There were none. <br />4. Close Public Hearing. <br />Chairman Hal Lawler closed the public hearing at 6:14pm. <br />5. Consider recommendation to CiV Council regarding Rezone Request #11-92000002 for the <br />property located at 801 North 16t Street from LI to HI. <br />Motion by Dottie Kaminski to recommend to City Council, approval of Rezone Request #11- <br />92000002. Second by Lou Ann Martin.
