Assistant City Manager Traci Leach presented a summary and asked Board members to approve $1.7 <br />million instead of $1.9 million for proposed projects of the La Porte Development Corporation Board. <br />There being no public comments, the public hearing closed at 5:06 p.m. <br />(b) Consider approval or other action regarding the following projects of the La Porte Development <br />Corporation; 1) La Porte Wave Pool renovations, in an amount not to exceed $$410,000.00; 2) Main <br />Street Decorative Lighting, in an amount not to exceed $180,000.00; 3) Design services for proposed <br />new La Porte Recreation Center, in an amount not to exceed $500,000.00 and 4) Northwest Pool <br />Renovations, in an amount not to exceed $800,000.00 — T. Leach <br />Assistant City Manager Traci Leach presented a summary. She recommended omitting Item 2 in the list <br />— Main Street Decorative Lighting. <br />Board member Engelken made a motion to authorize projects of the La Porte Development Corporation: <br />1) La Porte Wave Pool renovations, in an amount not to exceed $$410,000.00; 3) Design services for <br />proposed new La Porte Recreation Center, in an amount not to exceed $500,000.00 and 4) Northwest <br />Pool Renovations, in an amount not to exceed $800,000.00. Board member Fuller seconded the motion. <br />MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 7/0. <br />4. SET DATE FOR NEXT MEETING <br />Board members set the next meeting date for September 25, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. <br />5. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS regarding matters appearing on agenda; recognition of community <br />members, city employees, and upcoming events; inquiry of staff regarding specific factual information or <br />existing policies. <br />Board member Engelken questioned the plan for the Economic Development Coordinator position with <br />the resignation of Assistant City Manager Traci Leach. City Manager Corby Alexander responded <br />Planning Technician Ryan Cramer will be assisting with duties, and Staff has plans to begin interviews <br />next week to fill the Assistant City Manager's position. <br />Board member Ojeda commented the property and completion of the enhancement grant project located <br />at 9901 Spencer Hwy looks good, and she thanked Assistant City Manager Traci Leach for her services <br />at the City of La Porte. <br />6. ADJOURN <br />There being no further business, Board member Fuller moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:10 p.m. Board <br />member Ojeda seconded the motion.
