Several opportunities for financial assistance are available to assist
entities with recovering from disaster(s). Many of these financial assistance programs provide federal
funding to assist states and communities to fund cost effective measures to reduce or eliminate the long-
term risk of flood damage. Cost sharing associated with these financial assistance opportunities vary
from a 90/10 split to a 50/50 split. Staff has developed the following list of projects aimed to assist with
recovery after previous flooding events and to make the City more resilient in the future.
Financial Total # of Completion
Total Estimated
Project DescriptionAssistance Cost SharingAnticipated City's ShareDamaged Time
Harvey Damage
ProgramProject CostStructures(months)
6th Street (from Madison to
CDBG & HMGP$325775.30 | 75/25$2.5M$625,000$174,969310
Main)
Southside Neighborhood
HMGP75/25$950,000$237,500$81,04448
Drainage Improvements
Battleground Estates Phase II TWDB50/50$68,880$34,440$210,34158
Bayside Terrace Improvements HMGP75/25$2.2M$550,000$1,170,082188
Brookglen Drainage
HMGP75/25$4.0M$1,000,000$14,483,83025612
Improvements
LCB (F216) Phase III HMGP & TWDB75/25 | 50/50$4.0M$1,000,000$449,2091210
F101-06-00 Improvements
HMGP75/25$3.2M$800,000$640,226188
(Pipeline Corridoor)
Bob's Gully (F210-00-00)
TWDB50/50$95,000$47,500$757,414188
Analysis
Citywide 2D Model TWDB50/50$165,000$82,500N/A12

Project start times will vary based on funding and prioritization.
ACTION REQUIRED
Consider the items presented and discussed and provide direction to staff.
Approved for Drainage Committee Agenda
