<br /> <br /> <br />JAY MARTIN CHUCK ENGELKEN <br /> <br />Chairman Member <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> STEVE GILLETT <br />DANNY EARP <br /> Alternate Member <br />Vice-Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 <br />The Drainage and Flooding Committee of the City of La Porte met on Monday, September 14, 2020, at <br />the City Hall Council Chambers, 604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at 5:15 p.m. to consider <br />the following items of business: <br />Committee Members present: Jay Martin, Chuck Engelken, Danny Earp <br />Committee Members attending remotely: None <br />Committee Members absent: None <br />Council-appointed officers present: Corby Alexander, City Manager; Lee Woodward, City Secretary <br />1. CALL TO ORDER - Chairman Martin called the meeting to order at 5:17 p.m. <br />2. CITIZEN COMMENT (Generally limited to five minutes per person, in accordance with state law, the time <br />may be reduced if there is a high number of speakers or other considerations.) <br />There were no citizen comments. <br />3. STATUTORY AGENDA <br />(a)Presentation, discussion, and possible action to approve the August 10, 2020, meeting minutes. <br />\[Chairman Martin\] <br /> <br />Member Engelken moved to approve the minutes; Member Earp seconded the motion; the motion was <br />adopted, 3-0. <br /> <br />(b) Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding the City of La Porte's detention rate <br />requirements. \[Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant Director of Public Works\] <br /> <br />Mr. Wingate discussed the City of La , recommending a flat rate for <br />all development. He is to inquire of Harris County regarding credit for detention areas/ponds. <br /> <br />(c)Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding the status of current drainage projects. <br />\[Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant Director of Public Works\] <br /> <br />Mr. Wingate said he had spoken with Harris County about work at Brookglen. He said the City of <br />Pasadena had called on Friday with a verbal confirmation to move forward on the agreement, planning <br />to work in concert with an upcoming development. Regarding the Park Street/Jefferson/Sylvan Beach <br />project, Mr. Wingate confirmed that it was complete and that the contractor will next work on a sidewalk <br />project. Mr. Wingate discussed a potential partnership with the County on $2.2 million additional in funds. <br /> <br />(d) Presentation, discussion, and possible action in connection with receipt of a report regarding the <br />September 14, 2020 - Drainage and Flooding Committee Minutes <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
