Also present were City <br />Secretary Patrice Fogarty, City Manager Corby Alexander, and Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins. <br />2. INVOCATION - The invocation was given by Brian Christen, La Porte Community Church. <br />3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Jay Martin. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS, PROCLAMATIONS, and RECOGNITIONS <br />(a) Recognition — Certificate of Appreciation — La Porte Community Civic Club — Mayor Rigby <br />Mayor Rigby recognized members of the La Porte Community Civic Club for their outstanding work <br />and dedication to the community during the Juneteenth festivities and throughout the year. Charlie <br />Perry thanked the Police Department and the Parks and Recreation Department for their assistance <br />and reported that the La Porte Community Civic Club has been functioning for 35 years. <br />(b) Recognition — The City of La Porte TAMI Award Recipient — Mayor Rigby <br />Mayor Rigby recognized the City of La Porte for receiving the Texas Association of Municipal <br />Information Officers Gold TAMI award for the category "Best One Time Special Event" — Centennial <br />Celebration of the Commissioning of the Battleship TEXAS. Jaree Hefner, Marketing and Public <br />Relations Specialist, accepted the award. <br />(c) Recognition — "Employee of the (Second) Quarter" — Brian Sterling — Mayor Rigby <br />Mayor Rigby recognized Brian Sterling for receiving "Employee of the (Second) Quarter." <br />5.
