8. AUTHORIZATIONS <br />(a) Consider approval or other action to reschedule or cancel the May 28, 2018, Council <br />meeting due to the Memorial Day holiday — P. Fogarty <br />Councilmember Engelken made a motion to cancel the May 28, 2018, Council meeting. <br />Councilmember Leonard seconded. MOTION PASSED UNAIMOUSLY 9/0. <br />Ayes: Mayor Rigby, Councilmembers Leonard, Engelken, Ojeda, <br />Zemanek, Kaminski, Earp, J. Martin, and K. Martin <br />Nays: None <br />Absent: None <br />9. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br />There were no administrative reports. <br />10. COUNCIL COMMENTS regarding matters appearing on the agenda; recognition of community <br />members, city employees, and upcoming events; inquiry of staff regarding specific factual <br />information. <br />Councilmember Ojeda thanked Police Chief Ken Adcox and Staff for applying for grants; thanked <br />Planning and Development Director Richard Mancilla for presented a Special Workshop Meeting <br />and commented she is looking forward to the patio home development; Councilmember J. Martin <br />congratulated recipients of the proclamations; commented the patio home development will be a <br />nice addition to the community; asked that the issue be resolved for the creation of Harris County <br />MUD 561 and adoption of utility agreement for the April 23, 2018, meeting, and advised of a <br />delayed traffic signal on Fairmont Parkway at Bay Park and requested Staff contact the appropriate <br />authorities to check the operation of the light; Councilmember Zemanek recognized the recipients <br />of the proclamations and shared the great news that his wife Stephanie Zemanek completed cancer <br />treatments at M.D. Anderson hospital; Councilmembers Leonard and Engelken congratulated <br />Councilmember Zemanek and his family on their great news; and Mayor Rigby thanked everyone <br />for attending the meeting and advised he attended Easter Sunrise Services, that it was well <br />attended, and congratulated Councilmember Zemanek and Stephanie on their great news. <br />11. ADJOURN - There being no further business, Councilmember Engelken made a motion to adjourn <br />the meeting at 6:39 p.m. Councilmember Leonard seconded the motion.
