~~ <br />The following projects are recommended by staff to be considered in a proposed bond election and to be <br />financed by issuance of General Obligation Debt. The City can issue <br />$18 million without a tax increase. <br /> <br />1 <br />1. Building a new Police headquarters <br />2. Improvements to the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />1 <br />3. Development of Westside Park in conjunction with <br />building a youth baseball complex (Park $800K, <br />baseball complex $2.0 million -bringing utilities <br />to site $400K) <br /> <br /> <br />4. Fire Department/EMS <br />TOTAL <br /> <br />III. Proposed Project Listing <br />$ 7.7 million <br />$ 3.5 million <br />$ 3.2 million <br />$ 1.9 million <br />$16.3 million <br />Section 4B Sales Tax <br />1 <br />The following projects are recommended to be financed by the Section 4B Sales Tax. At this time, the City can issue <br />$9.5 million from this revenue source. A bond election is not needed for these projects if approved by Council. <br /> <br />1. Our portion of Bay Area Boulevard <br />extension/improvements from Fairmont <br />Pazkway to Spencer Highway <br />Road $ 4.5 million <br />Install sanitary sewer trunk main $ 1.6 million <br />TOTAL $ 6.1 million <br /> <br /> <br />Staff would also recommend that a future project that would be a good candidate for use of the Section 4B <br />Sales Tax Fund would be building the extension of Canada Road from Fairmont Parkway to Spencer <br />Highway. The estimated cost for this proposal would be approximately $3.5 million and could be issued in <br />2003. <br /> <br />1 <br />2.
