STATE OF TEXAS)( COUNTY OF HARRIS )( CITY OF LA PORTE )( ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY MINUTES A regular meeting was held on September 5, 2012 and called to order at 6:00 p.m., at the La Porte Police Department in the Administrative Conference Room, 3001 N. 23,a, and LaPorte, Texas. Members in attendance were, Chief of Police Ken Adcox, Animal Control Supervisor Clarence Anderson, Council Member John Zemanek, Committee Member Dana Dicker, Committee Advisor Kimberly Ferguson, and three guests. 1. Call to Order at 6:00 p.m. 2. Approval of the minutes from June 5, 2012. Motion was made by Clarence Anderson and seconded by John Zemanek to approve the minutes from June 5, 2012. Motion was approved. 3. Update on the Animal Shelter Donation Account: Animal Control Supervisor Clarence Anderson updated the committee of the statues of the Donation Account. Motion was made by Dana Dicker and seconded by Ken Adcox to spend $900.00 for vaccinations for the animals. Motion was approved. 4. Presentation of Administrative/Statistical Reports by Animal Control Supervisor: Animal Control Supervisor Clarence Anderson went over the Statistical Reports for the Shelter. 5. Clarence Anderson went over the design plans of the new Animal Shelter and advised that the basic design has been approved by the City and that the department is currently working with the Architect on the design. Chief Adcox advised that the department was looking into getting sponsors for the appropriate rooms to help off -set some of the cost of the building. Dana Dicker advised that Scout's Honor Rescue Group is raising fund to purchase new beds for the dog kennels in the new shelter. 6. Committee Comments. No Comments were made.
