<br />Building Codes Appeals Board <br />Minutes of August 18, 2005 <br /> <br />Members Present: Tom Campbell, Terry Bunch, Bruce Compton, Ken Schlather, John <br />Elfstrom and Ron Holt <br /> <br />Members Absent: Franc Velez (Resigned) <br /> <br />City Staff Present: Chief Building Official Debbie Wilmore <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Meeting called to order at 6:07 P.M. by Chairman Tom Campbell. <br /> <br />2. CONSIDER APPROVING MINUTES FROM THE JULY 14,2005 MEETING <br />Motion to approve the July 14, 2005 minutes, as submitted, was made by Bruce <br />Compton. Second by Ken Schlather. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />3. CONTINUE DISCUSSION AND TAKE ACTION ON "DRAFT" LOCAL <br />ELECTRICAL CODE AMENDMENTS, ADOPTION ORDINANCE AND BOARD <br />RECOMMENDATION MEMO <br />Chairman Campbell asked the Board if they had any questions or comments on the <br />amendments, the adoption ordinance or the Board memo. Mrs. Wilmore advised <br />everyone the proposed "draft" ordinance included in their packets had been re-formatted <br />by the city attorney but their proposed changes remained the same. Staff had the revised <br />ordinance at the meeting for their review. <br /> <br />Following discussion, Mr. Compton made a motion: (1) to approve the amendment <br />changes proposed, (2) to approve the adoption ordinance as re-formatted by the city <br />attorney and (3) to forward the amendments and ordinance to City Council. Second by <br />John Elfstrom. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Compton also made a motion to approve the Board Recommendation Memo as <br />written. Second by Mr. Elfstrom. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />4. REVIEW AND DISCUSS EXISTING LOCAL AMENDMENTS OF THE <br />RESIDENTIAL CODE, BUILDING CODE, PLUMBING CODE, FUEL GAS CODE, <br />ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE AND MECHANICAL CODE <br />Chairman Campbell stated the intent of this review is to become more familiar with <br />existing code amendments. Taking each code individually, the Board discussed the <br />various amendments and determined code changes were minimal. The Board felt no <br />additional discussion is needed at this time. <br />
