CITY OF LA PORTE
OFFICE OF COUNCILMEMBER DISTRICT 4
TOMMY MOSER
INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
September 24, 2004
TO: Debra B. Feazelle, City Manager✓
FROM: Councilmember District 4 Tommy Moser
SUBJECT: Insurance Questions
Thank you for the recent binder I received in an effort to answer the outstanding insurance
questions. The binder contains the same information as we previously received and is very broad
in scope. Could you please answer the following questions in lay terms:
• Provide a phase in or plan to charge more for new employees
• Indicate how many times during the last three (3) years did we have multiple stop loss
cases
• What number of total employee population did not file a claim
• Over the past 10 years, how many retirees historically dropped plan coverage compared to
how many retirees stay on the plan
• How many retirees are over the age of 60
As this matter is time sensitive, a simple explanation would expedite the fmalization of this matter.
c: Mayor and City Council
John Joerns
Cynthia Alexander
Sherri Sampson
