Section 12. Number, Selection, Term. <br />The City Commission of the City of La Porte shall be <br />composed of a Mayor and four (4) Commissioners. The four (4) <br />positions of Commissioner on the City Commission shall be <br />numbered One (1), Two (2), Three (3) and Four (4). <br />The Mayor and members of the City Commission shall <br />hold their offices for a term of two (2) years, and unt.tl their <br />successors have been elected and duly qualified. The Mayor and <br />City Commissioners, Positions Two (2) and Four (4), shall be <br />elected at a regular City Election on the first Saturday of <br />April in each even numbered year. The City Commissioners, <br />Positions One (1) and Three (3), shall be elected at a regular <br />City Election on the first Saturday of April in each odd numbered <br />year. <br />All candidates for City Commissioner shall be voted <br />on and elected separately for posit.ons on said Cl!y Commission, <br />and each candidate shall. be designated on the official ballot <br />according to the number of suc!; pos, t ion tr, wh:Lcr. he seeks <br />election. <br />Any candidate for office receiving a ma;cr:ty of all <br />the votes cast for the office for which he is a candidate shall <br />be elected to such office. In the event any candidate for any <br />office fails to receive a majority of all votes cast for all <br />the candidates for such office, the City Commission shall call <br />a second election within thirty (30) days, at which said second <br />election the two candidates receiving the highest number of <br />votes shall be voted for again. In the event of a tie in the <br />vote for the two leading candidates, at the regular electron, <br />the City Commission shall call a second election within thirty <br />(30) days, at which said second election the candidates receiving <br />such tie vote shall be voted for again. <br />
