The purpose of the meeting was general. The first matter to be disposed of was that Q deciding whwther or not the city would use concrete pipe or ~~ salt glared clay pipe in the construction of the ae~rer system. It developed that there was a diferenae of ~1~~OOi00 in cost in favor of aonarete pipe. ~--'~ r Alderman Butt offered a motion seaoided by Alderman S ;that Mr. Gayle be instructed to use conar~ie pips in the const'; ~'tioa of the sewer s,~stem. Yote in favor of this motion was unanimous. Contractor Gayle asked for the preference of the aounail in fire hydrants to be used and offered the follow3ag braa~ds !or their consideration.Darliag. Rensler.Columb is ani Eddie. Contractor Gayle asked the council to locate all sewer and water lines at once to avoid a~ delay in his work R R Busch, eating for the American LaBraaae Co. stated that his aompat~r wished to make a new contract with t~ City .o( LaPorte for the pur~aee of a fire truck stating that his aompax~r had red sated the terms offered by the city. bTo det- inate action was taken as the city at a previous meeting had re- quested that tha Americ_n La I'r•ance Co. submit a new contract i~ t~ t!?e c~*~r^~.1 for their consideration. Alderman Wall offered a motion seconded by Alderman Sharp that the ~I[ayer +~nd City Secretary be authorised to ratii'~r an ordinanoe efititled Ordinance `'~#~08 ~ making it a penalty to ±emper with a~ of the natures or the City Water Lines or app~rt~nances of same; The motion was carried.
