~~ _/ REGULAR MEETING LA PORTI~ CITY COUNCIL OCT. 26/31 Meeting was called to order by the mayor,A N Mc Kay. Jno. S Kiibler. 5 00. All memebrs of the council answered to the roll call. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following bills were ordered paid. News 'Pub. Co. 23 25. tNilson Ptg. and Sat. Co. 1 90. Committee Reports. • The Street and Alley committee reported that they would reccomend that 300 cu. yards of shell be placed on-aev~ oral streets that are badly in need of repair and that the city employ a man to check the loads and supervise the placing of the shell. New Business; The Street and Alley committee reported that in their judgement the damage aleged to have been done to the property owned by F T Baldwin during the instalation of the sewer main was not the responsibility of the cities but that Mr. Ealdwin should look to the sewer contractor in making claim for damage and that the secretary write to Mr. Baldwin advising him of the findsrsg s of the oommittee and quote the report of the Arbitra#~ion Board which was in substantiation of this oommittee~s report. Alderman VYall offered•a motion seconded by Alderman Ruff that the secgY. notify the Gulf Cities Nattl. . Gad co in writing that they moat abide by the ordinance governing the fees to be charged for meter deposits and meter changes. - Carried. Alderman Wall offered a motion seconded by Alderman Ruff that the sec' y. investigate to see if we have axi ordinance against dumping trash otherwise than at cities dumping ground and if none is found draw up an ordinance. ~',~: J • Carried . Alderman Sandal offered a motion seconded by Alderman Ruff that ,the sec+y. write to Mr. N F Davis that he must remove the trash which he had dumped in the street gully at F and Brownell to the cities dumping ground. Carried. Alderman Sharp offered a motion seconded by Alderman Ruff that the secy. be authorized to purchace 150 ft.. of chemical hose, tvvo buckets, two chamoises and some metal poli sh for the use of the fire dept . Carried.
