The following members of the city council were present Fred R Ruff, Geo. Counts and L C Lawrence, T.inutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. T R Robertson representing the Interstate Dir°ctory Co. was present and asked the council to grant them tine authority to establish a house :~ax'~l~t~~ numbering system in La Porte in order that the directory be more complete. . Ald. I~.i.ff offered a motion seconded by AIDd.. iavrrence .that the company be authorised to work ~ out a house nur~:bering plan in connection with their directory. ~~ -+' Carried.. Ald. Ruff offered a motion seconded by Ald. Counts that when ever the county yeas ready to grade and gravel Lobit street from the city limits north to San ~~acinto Bay that the city grade and gravel the street from I,~ain st , north to the city limits. Carried Chris lsensee notified the council that the lot which the city proposed putting the nave water Qell on had been fenced by him fora number of years and offered to~ give the city a ?uitclaim Deed for the lot in order that'the possibility of a future claim of - owners'nip on account of the lot having been under -fence be eliminated. On a motion by Ald. muff seconded by Ald. Counts i.t vas agreed t'n.at the city obtain a i~uitclaim Deed from I,ir. Zsensee for a•considerAtio of ,ti;1 00. J Carried. On motion by Al d, Counts seconded by Ald. Ruff the city secretary was instructed- to notify Deputy T~:arshal rTanailton to see that all local distributors of beer in La Porte obtain ,~~ a license. - Carried. - ~~ On rr~otion by Ald. Counts seconded by Ald. Ruff the city - Secs y. was instructed to notify through the City riealth Officer, all partieswhose sewer emptied 'into the street or allies and constituted a nuisance and menace that t~zey vrould -be required to connect with the city sewer system at once.
