r <br />(Faye Three) • <br />.,r Upon motion by Ald. Counts and second by Ald. Agee <br />applications for the position of `~Jat er Worlcs Bngineer <br />'.~'. and truck driver would be asked for and considered at <br />a special meeting to be held at 8 0' clock P.I~~ <br />Friday June 28th. The matter of penalties and interest on <br />delinquent taxes would also be tagen up at that meeting. <br />Carried <br />Jno. S Kiibler, acting as a representative of 'the La PoEte <br />Chamber of Commerce appeared before the council and asked <br />that body to givo him and his committee authority to <br />represan.t the City at a meeting to be held at Ft. Z;forth, <br />in an effort to procure a P vu A Loan and Grant for im- <br />provements to the Sylvan Beach Park.. The above action <br />without financial obligation to the city. <br />Carried . <br />Ald. Roark offered a motion vvhich was seoonded by A1d. <br />i Holton that the City Council make a complete settlement <br />i with J H Rafferty, upon surrender of all maps and data <br />on the water works extension and sewer f~~~~~~~~ <br />system; This settlement of the balance owing to J H <br />Rafferty to be made upon the basis as heretofore agreed <br />to by the Council. <br /> <br />Carried. <br />`~~ ! Upon motion by A1.d. Roark and second by Ald. Boyle <br />the council was authorized to employ an engineer to <br />perform what ever engineering work was required and <br />i furnish specifications, drafts, cute, etc. in order for <br />the city to make proper application to the work relief <br />authorities to secure laboe on city work relief projects; <br />That the attached list of projects be included in the <br />cities application and that the several committees submit <br />in writing to the work relief committee their recommendation <br />for other and additional work in their respective depart- <br />ments, to be included in the cities application. <br />Carried . <br />The f ollovri ng motions were acted on favori bly. Ald. Koark <br />made a motion and kld. Holton seconded the motion that <br />~ all motions herewith be adopted. <br />I~.OTI ON: <br />It_ OTI ON <br />;~ <br />Carried . <br />Following are the motions; <br />That the position of engineer or maintanace man at the <br />city water plant be abolished on and after June 30th., <br />1935 and that Geo. Blair be discharged on that date. <br />to employ a truck driver and general utility man for <br />three days of each week, eight hours per day ; to be paid <br />at the end of each week at the rate of 40 cents per <br />hour. In addition~to other duties this employee will <br />perform without additional compensation the duties of the <br />GJater Plant maintanance man which were formsly performed <br />by Geo.
