<br />w ~ <br />REGULAR htE~'I'I NG <br />- LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />OC T O1:~Fft 28 /35 <br />b:eeting was called to order by ~;ayor H B Harrison. All members <br />of the council answered to roll call. <br />There bei~~g no unfinished business to transact the council <br />proceeded to new business. <br />By a motion by Ald. Holton and second by Ald. Roark the city <br />attorney was instructed to notify all residents' of La Forte <br />that are maintaining dry toilets that in compliance with the <br />City (~'dinance ~-2~T~ any one within 100 feet of a city sewer <br />main would be required to do away with their dry toi:lets~ <br />immediately after January 1-1936. <br />Carried. <br />~ motion by A1d. rIolton and. second by Ald. Roark the water Dept. <br />was instructed to rebate R H I~`,illers water account for October <br />reducing the charge from :6.50 to y~1.50. <br />Carried. <br />On motion by Ald. Holton and second by Ald. Roark the council <br />went on reccord as approving the graveling of the foJ.lowing <br />'~ streets after which all street work9 would be suspended except <br />- in case of an emergency. <br />Fifth street, three blocks north from Rain Street. G street, <br />two blocks east from San Jacinto. D street from fifth. to sixth. <br />Carried . <br />The ,budget committee submitted amendment ~ 2 to the 1935 budget <br />which was approved by the council by motion by Ald. Counts and <br />second by Ald. Holton. <br />6~. motion by Ald. Counts and second by Ald. Holton the council <br />gave La Porte citizens the privilege of taking gravel. off of <br />north end of the cities gravel concession foe us on city streets <br />only <br />Carried. <br />On motion by Ald. tIolton and second by Ald. Foyle the council <br />approved the appointment by the Mayor of the follovrir~g men to <br />serve as special officers on Halloween nighty at X3.00 each. <br />L E twin, C G Ha,ilton, E E Hesston and J F De Lawder. <br />Alderman Counts asked the council to approve his act in borrow- <br />ing a street grader from hr. Browning so that he would not come <br />in for criticism in case of needed repairs. ~.e approval was <br />granted by a motion by Ald. Boyle and second by Ald. .Holton. <br />~~' Alderman Agee offered a motion which was seconded by Ald. Holton <br />that .the city purchace two 8 ply-32 X 6 tires and two heavy duty <br />tubes for the Cities truck. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />( over <br />
