I" <br />2 <br />' ~iin~s of the R®ces~sed PTeeting of J~ 22nd, <br />June 23rd, 1936, 8 0' clock F'.P~. <br />P.?eeting Na.s called to order by P3ayor Sharp, the following Aldermen <br />were present, responding to roll calls C.Iv?.Agee, F.R.Boyle, Fred. <br />R.Ruff, J.J.Roark. <br />Report of Com: om Detour <br />A report of the Special Com. appointed by T,?ayor Sharp on arranging <br />with the Highway Dept. for suitable detour for Bayridge residents , <br />was made by the chairman F.R.Boyle to the effect that some of the <br />officials had been contacted who promised that some action would. be <br />taken and that temporarily a man would be placed at the gate to per- <br />mi~s residents passage. Committee was given power to take any action <br />necessary to clear up situation satisfactorily. <br />Bayridge Water Line <br />Report•was made by Ald. Agee that Bayridge residents were desirous of <br />connecting to the City ti~ater-line.- This matter tiva.s left with the ~~Tater <br />Co~mn.ittee• <br />City Secretary <br />~?oti.on by Ald. Agee, second by Ald. Ruff that the resolution adopted by <br />the City Council at its meeting on June 8th, assigning additional dLities <br />to the City Secretary and providing additional compensation of X10.00 <br />per month, be rescirded• Cartied. The opinion of the C_ty Attorney <br />on the matter was ordered placed. on file. <br />Bridge- City Hall Fire Plug - <br />Chairman of the Street and Alley Com. reported that the bridge ad- <br />jacent to the fire plug; at the City Hall was in need of repair and <br />materiels had been ordered and repairs made. - <br />AIr C.AI.Bond appeared before the Council on the matter of bids for <br />newspaper work in the appointment o~ off icial~newspaper~• for the <br />City of La i'orte, asHng the Council to clarify their position in <br />the appointment. 'The Council ^members stated their position} indi- <br />vidually. Pair Fred Hartman also appeared and stated his position and <br />the position of the Daily Sun in the matter. The City Attorney submitted <br />a written opinion of the City's status in this matter which was placed <br />on file. - - <br />On motion by Ald. Boyle, second by Ald.
