<br />La Porte, Texas, was held at the City Hall in La Port®, at 8:00 P. ~.,
<br />I':ey 6, 1x,37. T1^.e following members cf the City Council mare present:
<br />L~:ayor Geo. H. Sharp; Aldermen Fred R. Ruff, J. J. Roark, P. L. Eor..son and
<br />Frank R. Boyle. Alderman C. T1. Agee eras absent. '
<br />The Trayor presented, and read to the Council, the following
<br />letter from the La Port® Volunteer Fire Department, to wit:

<br />This is to certify that at the regular mo.thly meeting of the
<br />La Porte Volunteer Fire Department, hold last evening, T,;ay Si:F.,
<br />193?, at the City Ball in La Pori:e, which meeting was attended
<br />by a majority ox" tro members of the Department, by a vote of the
<br />membership present, the Fire Deparianent unanimously elected to
<br />guabify to participate in the benefits of tre Firenen~s Relief
<br />and Retirement Fund, as provided in House Bill Ido. 258, passed
<br />by the .5th Legislature of this State and approved on April 9th,

<br />Hy unanimous vote, the following named members of the Fire Depart-
<br />ment t7ore elected to serve the terms of one, tyro and three years,
<br />respectively, on the Board of Firements Relief and Retirement Fux:d•
<br />Trust~aes of La Porte, Tears s, to z~•it: George Isensee, term. of ono
<br />year; Jno. S. Kiibler, term of two years; Guy R. Hamilton, tErm
<br />of three years. These members of the Department, together t:*ith the
<br />T~eyor, as Chairman thereof, and the City Secretary and Treasurer,
<br />e.s the Secretary-Treasurer thereof, constitute such Board of Trus-
<br />tees of the City of La Porte.
<br />By a vote of the membership present at such meeting it eras unani-
<br />mously determined that the members of the La Porte Volunteer Firo
<br />Department who desire to participate in the benefits of this law
<br />must pay the sun of ^5.00 per axmum, payable semi-annually, as in
<br />such law provided.
<br />A copy, in duplicate, of the foregoing proceedings of said meeting
