A letter was read from R.B. Mc Aahan in regard to property in Block 7, La Porte ~eAshan which had been deeQtl.to the City by Mrs L.S. Mc Ashan. The letter was turned over to the City Attorney for investigation and advice, on motion by Agee, second by Ruff and ~idopted. by those present. Coin The Counicil advised the City Secretary that refunds cannot be made on Coin Mach Machine licenses, for music type of machine, which were taken out last year. Eleotion The Mayor presented the report on the City Election held April 5th,1938, at the City Hall as follows: For Mayor to serve for two years; Geo. E. Sharp b3 votes Gus Tips 1 votes For~Aldermen to serve for twa years: J.J. Roark 62 votes Fred R. Ruff 63 votes Fred Hartman 1 vote.' James ~,uldoon 1 vote °~~~ For City Secretary to serve for two years; 1~~rs ~i.O.Lambly 61~ votes For City Marshall to serve for two years: F..H. Baker James De Ladder b3 votes 1 vote The Mayor declared the following elected to serve for. two ,years: Geo. H. Sharp, .~'ayor, J.J. Roark and Fred Fc. F.uff, Aldermen, Mrs M.O. Lambly, City Secretary and &.H. Baker, City Marshall. B'otion by Agee, second by Ruff that the election returns be reoei~ed and p~aeed on file. Carried.. On motion by Agee, second by Ruff, the Council took adjournment. The newly elected officials were sworn in and administered the oath of office by City Attorney Jno. ~~'.. Kiiblor, except Ald.
