Co. on the La Porte area be ~:¢oepted and placed orl file. <br />Carried <br />Affidavit The City Secretary presented an affidavit on the burning of City of <br />La ports Refunding Bonds Nos.8,9,8: 10, due April 1938, each in the <br />principal sum of X1,000. This affidavit was accepted and ordered filed. <br />Receipt ~Aotion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the Receipt signed by the National <br />Collateral Bank of Cornrnerce of Houston, Texas, covering coll~aeral tendered by the <br />First National Bank of La Porte as depository of City Funds, be accept- <br />ed and placed on file with the City's contract with the Bank as deposi- <br />tory and that the old receipt be returned to the National Bank of Co~a- <br />merce. Carried. <br />Shell The City Ueeretary presented a letter from C.O. Crenshaw in which he <br />Alley stated that he would be shelling the alley back of his property de- <br /> scrited as Lots 11 and 12, Block 39, La Porte, which is adjacent to <br /> and will parallel the drive to the City's garage a distance of 60 feet <br /> widening said drive about 10 feet. Mr Crenshaw stated that he would ap- <br /> prec~ate the City's support and cooperation in the matter of paying for <br /> a proportionate part of the shell. <br /> Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the City meet N~.r Crenshaw's re- <br /> quest in the matter of shell for the alley bacY of hig lots in Block <br /> 39, ~ Porte, not to exceed ~ loads of shell. .Carried. <br />Ae~vance Motion by Ruff, second by Benson, that the City be author zed to make a <br />on Maps payment of ~1~0.00 in advance to Chas.R. Norris,Jr, and his associate for <br /> map work, upon the execution of the contract between the aforementioned <br /> parties and the City, in the City's map project. Carried. <br />Gay~.e <br />Bros The City Attorney reported that judgement had been entered in the case <br /> of Gayle Bros. vs City of La Porte, in the amount of ~12,375.~, with <br /> interest at 6i~ per annum from date. <br />Fire Bept ffiotion by Boyle,.. ,second by Agee, that since the budget is not yet com- <br /> plete, the City allow to the Fire Department for the fiscal year the <br /> sum o~ X50.00 for convention expense and X70.00 for Firemen's School <br /> expense.
