<br />(P:°inutes of C ity Counc:i.l,_T.~ay 27,1940, cont' d ) <br /> <br />• <br />It is further ordered that candidates for office at such <br />election shall file their applications with the ~17ayor of said City <br />not later than ten (10) full days prior to said election date. <br />It is further ordered t:iat the returns of such election be <br />delivered to the City Council of said City, in open session, as <br />soon as practicahle after the closing of the polls. <br />It is further ordered that proper notice of such election <br />be published in the official newspaper and that notices be posted <br />in three separate places in said City, not less than ten (10) days <br />prior to said election date. <br />otion by Agee, second by Roark, that the above resolution be ac- <br />cepted and passed and the election so ordered. <br />Carried. <br />Affidavit The T;`ayor presented proper affidavit on the burning of the following <br />City of La Porte Bonds ; '%ity of La Porte Pefunding Bonds I~To. Fourteen <br />(14), Fifteen(15), ~'ixteen(15), and Seventeen(17), each in the prin- <br />cipal sum of One Thousand Dollars(w1,000.00), dated October 10,A.D. <br />7.934 and due April 10,19) ~ 0. <br />Torres- A letter from the La Porte Cemetery :_ssocia'cion was read, motion by <br />pondence Agee, second by Ruff, that the letter be placed on file. <br />Carried. <br />Proposal ~ letter was read by the T,~ayor from T.`.. ~'. Smith of the Foundation <br />vyste;;l setting out a proposal on treating the City Hall for the con- <br />trol of 4ubterranean Termites. A r:iotion was offered by Ald. F,uff, <br />second by Agee, that the Cit~,r Secretary be instructed to write for <br />bids on termite eradication. <br />Carried. <br />Opinion The City Attorney's opinion on. the status o£ ''.r. Boyle was received <br />and filed. <br />Com.
