SPECIAL P~~ETING LA PORTF CITY COUNCIL JULY 11,19I~0, 5 : 00 P.11~. • Meeting was called to order by Mayor Sharp with the fo1lo~+ring Aldermen present: J.N. Johnson, J.J. Roark, Fred R. Ruff. The ~"~ayor stated that the purpose of the meeting was to give an easement to the Harris County Flood Control Authority and ~4orks Project Adriinistration of the United States of America. i~`otion by Ruff, second by Johnson, that the following resolution be adopted: "WHEREAS, the Farris County Flood Control Authority and the Works Projects Adrii.nistration of the United States of America are now en- gaged in a drainage and flood control project for Harris County, Texas, WHF.REFaS, the said agencies have requested permission of the City of La Porte, Texas to enter upon said lands, premises and streets be- ' longing to the City of La Porte for the purpose of executing and performing the construction items contained in the Flood Control project, L'nits A &; B, and particularly the work hereinafter stated to be done; and V~FIEREA,S, the City Council is of the opinion that such request is reasmnable and the work being of benefit to the City of La Porte, and con- sequently such permission should be granted; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I~ PORTE: Section 1. That the Farris County Flood Control Authority and the hdorks Projects Administration of the United States of America are hereby granted permission and are licensed to enter upon the lands and premises and streets belonging to or under the control of the City of La forte for the purpose of executing and performing the construction items contained in the plans and specifications for the Flood Control Projeet.
