Sharp, rJ?ayor of tk~e City <br />Empowered of La Porte be empo;vered t~~ sign a res<.,lutian of the Cityr of :tea Porte, <br />requesting State Ma:intenenea on that portion of Highway No. 1i.~6 through <br />the City of La Porte, Texas. <br />Carried. <br />State I~L~otion by .Agee, second by muff, that the followinS resolution be adopted: <br />i't~aintenence RESOLUTION OF Iu.~TI~ICI?ALITY ~~OR STATE MAINTENANCE OE PROJECTS CONSTRUCTED <br />Hiway 1~}6 IN CITY LII~~!ITS, <br />WHEREAS, the str>ets of the city of La Porte, Texas, are <br />within the jurisdiction and control of the City Council of such city; and <br />WHEREAS, the State Highway liepartmant of Texas intends to <br />spend certain funds within the corporate limits of this city on State High- <br />way No. 11.6; and <br />WFIEREAS, it has been the general policy of the State Hig-away <br />Departm©nt to maintain highways within the corporate limits of cities and <br />towns of less than 2,500 population whk3re the corporate body of such city <br />or town requested such maintenance; and <br />WHEREAS, the City cf La Porte, Texas was, by the latest <br />United States census, shown as less than 2,500 population <br />THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City <br />of La Porte, Texas, as represented by the City Council, that it desires <br />and requester the State Highway vepartment tt~ n~~int~Ain the imprivements <br />to be made on Highway No. 11x.6, within the corporate limits of La Porte, <br />Texas, to such extent, and in the mariner desired by the State Highway <br />Department, and further agrees that it will not repeal or amend any pro- <br />f~isions of this resol~.zton without substituting therefor a Resolution, <br />satisfactory to t}~e Highway Department, making ample provisions each year <br />fo's• the Taintenance by the City of La Porte of the aforementioned improve- <br />:aent s . <br />Carried. <br />
