Motion by Roark, second by Ruff, that the <br />auditing of City accounts be awarded to Learned and Tapp on their lair <br />bid of ~135.ao <br />Carried. <br />Refund 9~otion by Johnson, second by ages, that the amount of refund due <br />L.L. Ponder on his sewer extensior. deposit of $20.2~,be paid. <br />Carried. <br />Letter Motion by Johnson, second by Norris, that the City Secretary be <br />instructed to write a letter to the Mayor of Houston, also a copy <br />to Mr. Huey, thanking them for the lawn of the sewer cleaning <br />apparatus to the City of La forts. <br />Carried. <br />The Assistant Secretary presented and read a letter from the Harris <br />County Mayor's and Councilmen's Association. Motion by Ruff, second <br />by Johnson that this letter be placed on file. <br />Carried. <br />Election The Mayor presented the report of the City Election held April 7, 1942, <br />at the City Hall, as follows: <br />For Agayor to serve two years: <br />Fred R. Ruff 274 votes <br />Rufus Honeycutt 118 votes <br />Mrs. Hirahner 26 votes <br />For Alderman to serve two years= <br />J.J. Roark 313 votes <br />T.F. Smith 1?5 votes <br />Jack Kerber 254 votes <br />For City Secretary to serve two years: <br />l~rs. ~?.0. Lambly 399 votes <br />For Marshall to serve two years: <br />R. H. Be-ker 400 votes <br />Total votes oast 417 <br />Motion by Agee, second by Ruff, that Fred R. Ruff, for Mayor, J.J. <br />Roark and Jaak Kerber, for Aldermen, Mrs. M.O. La:dbly, for City <br />Secretary and R. H.
