<br />Mayors & the year 191.+2 be paid to A.M'. Thamnpson,Secy. Humble, Texas, Secretary
<br />Councilmen of the .Association of Mayors and Councilmen. Carried.
<br />Fire Chief Motion by Norris, second by Johnson, that the City a11ow~~.0.00 for the
<br />A & M expenses of the Fire Chief to the annual Fire School at A & M College,
<br />College Station, to be held from May'18th to May 22nd.191a2.
<br />Carried.
<br />Fire Chief Motion by Norris, seoond by Roark, that the City allow X15.00 to the
<br />Tires Fire Chief for having his car tires re-lined. Carried.
<br />City ~`arshal The letter of the City Marshal dated April 23,191,2, was considered at
<br />this time. Motion by Johnson, second by Norr is, that the City not al-
<br />low the raise of X10.00 in the car ~ allowance of the City Marshal,
<br />that he has asked for at this time. Car~tied
<br />Resolution Motion by Roark, second by Johnson, that the following resolution be
<br />Theatre adopted:
<br />Parking
<br />VPHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte, Texas has
<br />heretofore, by resolution, prohibited the standing or parking of any
<br />vehicles within a twenty-four (21a.) Foot space in front of the "Port
<br />Theatre" on Vest Main Street, and now desires to make such spaoe
<br />twelve (12) feet, instaed of teenty-four (21.x) feet, in width;
<br />N~1VP, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THH
<br />CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS THATs the standing or parking of aqy vehicle is
<br />prohibited within the spaoe, twelve (12) feet in width, directly in
<br />front of and adjacent to the entrance to the building of the "'Port
<br />T~eatre", on West Fain Street, between First and Second Streets, in the
<br />Clty of La Porte,Texas, and further that the Police Comanittee is hereby
<br />authorized and instructed to properly mark and sign said place as a
<br />"no parking zone"•

<br />Electrical Movtion by Johnson, second by Norris, that the matter oP the renewal
<br />Licenses of Electrical Licenses be turned over to the Electrical Board to be
<br /> reported on at the next Council meeting. Carried.
<br />Corp•Court The Mayor presented the Corporation Court Report for the period front
<br />Report April 18th to April 30th,191~^. Motion by Johnson, second by Norris
<br /> that the CorporationCourt Report be aocepted and ordered filed and
<br /> Mayor's fees paid. Carried.
<br />Audit Motion by Johnson, seoond by Roark, that the Audit of the City's books
<br /> for the fiscal year ending March 31,191.2, made by Learned & Tapp, be
<br /> aocepted, with correction on the last sentence in paragraph on "Taxes
<br /> Receivable" on page 2, and the bill of X135.00 be paid when this cor-
<br /> rection has been made. Carried.
