D. 1946, <br />for the purpose of electing two members to the Board of Aldermen, <br />the Mayor, the City Secretary and Tax Assessor and Collector and <br />the City l~crshal of said City. <br />It is further ordered that Mrs. Hallie ~'~right, <br />Mrs. May Belle Howald, N~„s. Georgia-~rTourtt, Mr.s» ti'+m. A. Stabs <br />_Bill Jones & Mary S~okes <br />are hereby appointed election officers, as designated, and that <br />said election-be held in the manner prescribed by law for holding <br />such elections. <br />~It is further ordered that the returns of auoh elections <br />be delivered to the City Council of said City, in open session , as - <br />soon as pretctioab~e after the closing of the polls. <br />It is further ordered that proper notice of auoh election <br />be published in the offio4d-3'newspaper. <br />Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that the election order be passed <br />as rend. <br />Carried. <br />The Mayor read the following aesolution; <br />Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of La Porte, <br />Texas, that all eaadidates for office, at the City election to be - <br />held on the 2nd day of April, A. D., 1946 shall file their appli- <br />cations for their names to be placed on the official ballot, with <br />the Mayor of said City, not later than twelve O'clock midnight <br />of the 22nd day of reh, A. B. 1946, the same being at le ast ten <br />full days prior to the date of said election, and further, that the <br />
